Perkin Educational Opportunities Foundation (PEOF) is a long-term non-partisan endeavor, driven by the needs and opportunities to overcome socioeconomic stagnation through personal and community development within rural territories of El Salvador.
We envision a day when migration to the city or north to the USA is not the only viable option open to the young in rural El Salvador for obtaining a dignified life for their families.
PEOF is unique as the only non-governmental organization in El Salvador focused on rural education and as having maintained a private school participating in, and contributing to, the public school system since 2008, irregardless of available funding. We are part and parcel with the community and do not leave when project funds run out.
PEOF is formed by Salvadorans and North-Americans, a multi-disciplined, broad-based group of individuals who each became aware of the educational needs of the population through their own experience in the area.
